GENESIS 49:22-24 "Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall, with bitterness, archers attacked him; they shot at him with

hostility. but his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel.”

 

TURNING POINTS

 

1. FROM A PROMISE TO THE ___________

 

GENESIS 37:3-7 “Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate robe for him. When his brothers saw

that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him. Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the

more. He said to them, ‘Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around

mine and bowed down to it.’”

 

GENESIS 37:9 “…Listen, he said. ‘I had another dream. This time the sun and moon and 11 stars were bowing down to me.’”

 

GENESIS 37:24 “Then they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit was empty; there was no water in it.”

 

2. FROM THE PIT TO A _______________

 

GENESIS 37:28 “Then some Midianite traders passed by, so they pulled him up and lifted Joseph out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver thus they

brought Joseph into Egypt."

 

GENESIS 39:2 “The LORD was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.”

 

3. FROM A SLAVE TO _______________

 

GENESIS 39:7-9 “…and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, ‘Come to bed with me!’ But he refused. ‘With me in charge,’ he told her, ‘my master does not concern

himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you,

because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?’”

 

GENESIS 39:19 “When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, ‘This is how your slave treated me,’ he burned with anger.”

 

GENESIS 39:20 “Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison…”

 

GENESIS 39:21-22 “But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer. The chief jailer committed to Joseph's charge all the

prisoners who were in the jail; so that whatever was done there, he was responsible for it.”

 

4. FROM A PRISON TO THE ________________

 

GENESIS 41:15-16 “Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘I have had a dream, but no one can interpret it; and I have heard it said about you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.’ Joseph

then answered Pharaoh, saying, ‘It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.’”

 

GENESIS 41:41-42 “Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.’ Then Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and clothed

him in garments of fine linen and put the gold necklace around his neck.”
